Michel Vorm

Vorm’s three Premier League appearances certainly feel like they happened decades ago at this point. The Dutch keeper was excellent Lloris’ injury absence, but has been relegated to the bench since then.

It would be pretty difficult for any of the coaches to do anything to “fix” Vorm’s performance. As long as Lloris remains healthy, he’s going to stay glued to the bench. He might get a Cup start here and there, but Lloris will be in goal when the money is really on the line.

The key for Vorm is to stay sharp and ready in case of disaster. He’s just one injury away from being pressed into duty. Vorm needs a lot of work in training to make sure that his skills don’t erode due to lack of use.

I would even suggest that Vorm should get a U23 start or two over the next couple of months. I know that playing time is valuable for Pau Lopez as well, but there’s more than enough playing time to allow Vorm a game or two. That’s really the only route Vorm has to keep himself ready to play if his number is called.
