Ben Davies

The Welsh left back is another Tottenham star who’s currently out of the lineup due to injury. The primary objective for Pochettino and company should be to get him back to full fitness sooner rather than later.

Once that happens, they need to work hard to deploy Davies in matchups where he can be successful. His lack of foot speed makes it difficult for him to line up against some of the Premier League’s quickest attackers.

As such, Spurs need to treat him in much the same way they treat Kieran Trippier. Both can help the club when they’re going to enjoy large possession advantages. They both have tremendous skill on the ball when they’re given proper time and space.

Each fullback could stand to be replaced, but that’s business that will likely have to wait until the summer transfer window. Until then, it’s best to cautiously deploy both men against slower, weaker, Premier League opposition.
