Tottenham repair guide: How Pochettino can fix each Spurs star
Josh Onomah
Onomah is another midfielder who’s been seen a lot on the Spurs bench, but hasn’t graced the pitch very often. He’s only made two Premier League appearances for a grand total of eight minutes of game action.
Unlike Carroll, he has a real future at the club. When he’s on the pitch for Pochettino he doesn’t look at all out-of-place. Despite his youth, he looks comfortable battling against men. That’s a very encouraging sign for the young Englishman.
While Onomah has a future with Tottenham’s senior side, the best way for him to improve this season would be to secure a reasonable loan away from the club.
In particular, a move to a Championship club pushing for promotion would do him a world of good. In a perfect world, I’d love to see him head to Newcastle to learn under Rafa Benitez. That might be too much to hope for, but it’s not the only good option for Onomah. He just needs meaningful game time to get ready for senior team football next season.
