Chelsea is facing their toughest challenge of the season thus far as they travel to Manchester for a first vs third matchup against Pep Guardiola and Man City

September was a rough month for Chelsea. They grabbed just one point from three matches and scored only three goals total. Their team looked disjointed and lacked any real unity on the pitch. A 3-0 drubbing by Arsenal at the Emirates was the last straw for manager Antonio Conte. He knew changes were needed.

Conte switched the team to a back three. He knew he had the talent on the team to effectively use the new formation and was confident it would revitalize the team. A 4-0 win over rivals Manchester United showed just how much Conte worked with his team and how influential he can be to a group of players.

With an incredibly tough match against Manchester City coming up, Chelsea is going to need to perform like they have been in the past two months if they are to come out on top. These five major factors will have a big impact on the match and should help see Chelsea edge out Pep Guardiola’s side.
