Centre Forward – Luis Suarez, Barcelona

Such is the level of talent at the top end of both sides, some real quality is being left out. While Gareth Bale will miss out with an ankle problem, Neymar can count himself incredibly unlucky.

As for the striking role, as good as Karim Benzema is and can be, there is no competition when it comes to Luis Suarez. Just like the Ballon d’Or, the race for the Pichichi (LaLiga’s top scorer) was a Messi or Ronaldo affair. Until last season, when 40 goals clinched the award for the Uruguayan.

While his personality may cause friction with some, his ability cannot be questioned. Suarez has proven himself at the very top since arriving at the Camp Nou from Liverpool in 2014.

Given how previous strike forces at Barcelona struggled to mesh, many predicted Suarez, Messi and Neymar would falter, but they’ve gone on to enjoy arguably the greatest ever partnership in the game.

What a way to complete a remarkable team.
