Goalkeeper – Keylor Navas, Real Madrid

The deciding factor in the choice of Navas over Marc-Andre ter Stegen is experience. The German stopper, who is known for his ability to play the ball out from the back, has made some high-profile errors during his career, while Navas has become a vital player at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The former Levante man was originally not seen as a future number one when he signed back in 2014. After a year battling it out with the legendary Iker Casillas, he was all set to sign for Manchester United in a swap deal for David De Gea, but an administrative error pulled the plug on the deal at the very last-minute,

Since then, the Costa Rican stopper, known affectionately as the Panther for his remarkable reflexes, has gone from strength to strength.

It was a tough call, but Navas just takes the place between the sticks.
