4. Spurs should have a normal(ish) back four

Let’s be honest. Tottenham’s back four against Chelsea last weekend was far from ideal. Kevin Wimmer tried hard to hold down the left back position, but that’s certainly not his best spot on the pitch.

The aforementioned return of Danny Rose should solve that problem. The English international missed the Chelsea match due to injury but he’ll be back in the starting XI Saturday. That should help Pochettino’s squad in multiple ways.

There’s also a reasonable chance that Toby Alderweireld could make his long-awaited return from injury. As a Tottenham fan, I swear Alderweireld hasn’t played since the 1970s. Spurs fans are desperate for their best defender to return.

For the record, I believe Pochettino will elect to hold him out against Swansea. I know he’s trained the last few days, but it’s not an important enough match to rush him back, even slightly.

Even so, the return of Danny Rose at left back will allow Pochettino to select a back four with defenders in their appropriate positions.
