5. Deadly Counter Attacks

If there is one thing Real Madrid are excellent at, it is counter attacking.

Barcelona are desperate for points, and therefore will start attacking from the opening whistle. It can leave a lot of space and gaps at the back, which will be exploited by speedy attackers from the away side.

Although Gareth Bale will miss this encounter, Lucas Vasquez is more than ready to step in and replace the Welshman. He has done well for the club since his move from Espanyol and played a huge part in a big win over city rivals Atletico.

More from Real Madrid

Jordi Alba and Gerard Pique have suffered injuries during the last weekend game against Sociedad and just returned to full training two days ago, while the French center back Samuel Umtiti played his first game in more than three weeks on Wednesday after suffering a hamstring injury.

With three out of four Barcelona defenders just returning to full fitness, they will struggle to stop Madrid forwards once the counter attack breaks out. That can lead to a disaster for them in their own backyard.
