2. Christian Eriksen may be waking up

I’ve been extremely critical of Christian Eriksen’s play this season. For me, he’s the healthy Spur who shoulders the most blame for the club’s slow start. He hadn’t managed to find his first Premier League goal until last weekend at Chelsea.

It’s funny how quickly things can change though. Now Eriksen has three goals in two weeks and is showing signs of finding a terrific patch of form. If the Danish attacker gets on a hot streak, it could be bad news for Tottenham’s future opponents.

Eriksen’s goals against the Swans weren’t exactly works of art, but they were products of him getting in dangerous positions on the pitch. If he keeps making those sorts of dangerous runs, he’s going to keep causing problems for opposing defenses.

If Tottenham are going to reach their full potential this season, Christian Eriksen is going to have to play his best football. He’s showing real signs of emerging from his doldrums after two really solid matches in a row.
