Alan Pardew – Crystal Palace

One of the more controversial managers in the Premier League, Alan Pardew is a truly divisive figure. He often garners strong opinions from fans and media alike. However, he has also displayed the ability to lead a club to incredible heights.

Beginning his managerial career by guiding Reading and West Ham United to promotions, Pardew’s ability to improve the overall fitness and form of his clubs was evident.

Pardew arrived at St. James’ Park and Newcastle United in December of 2010. He may not have known then, but his time in the North East would become a career-defining moment.

He was not the most popular choice by Newcastle supporters, but his first full season in charge of the Magpies was nothing short of spectacular. Pardew brought in players like Yohan Cabaye and Demba Ba that greatly improved the squad.

Newcastle finished in fifth place, with Pardew winning the Premier League Manager of the Season award. Unfortunately the good times faded and Pardew joined Crystal Palace in January of last year, his former club as a player.

A strong start to his time at Selhurst Park in the league and an FA Cup final appearance gave the feeling that the current season would be a special one. The 2016-17 campaign has not brought the same magic, with Palace currently mid-table.

Even with talks that his time with the club could be coming to an end, Crystal Palace’s Alan Pardew remains one of the most talented managers in the Premier League.
