Ranking the 20 Premier League managers

Mauricio Pochettino – Tottenham Hotspur
Managers in European football can rise quickly, put few have displayed such incredible knowledge and potential as Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino. In a matter of only seven years, the 44-year old Argentine has showcased a tremendous perspective on player management and match tactics.
A strong stint in charge of La Liga’s RCD Espanyol led to his appointment at Southampton in January of 2013. His success with the Saints brought him to White Hart Lane to manage Tottenham ahead of the 2014-15 Premier League campaign.
Pochettino utilises a 4-2-3-1 formation that focuses on pressing and positioning. Players like Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen have thrived in the system and can produce goals in bunches.
Tottenham have also benefitted from Pochettino’s view on young players and academy products, as playing time is given to the likes of Joshua Onomah and Harry Winks. While this approach can be looked upon as risky, developing young players with Premier League experience early on can help to set up future success for the club.
A fantastic 2015-16 season under Pochettino saw Spurs in the title race until the bitter end, eventually with Leicester City crowned as champions. His record in the North London derby has been positive as well, going unbeaten since taking over as Tottenham manager (1-4-0).
Currently in the top half of the table this year, Mauricio Pochettino will be aiming to take Spurs even higher this season.
