Mourinho continues to play the blame game
By Jocelyn Taub
Jose Mourinho continues to blame everyone and everything for Manchester United’s poor form. It’s about time he accept some responsibility himself
Jose Mourinho lashed out at journalists following another disappointing Manchester United result over the weekend at Everton. With United holding on to a one goal lead with just minutes left in regulation time, the manager sent Marouane Fellaini in as a sub. Within minutes of entering the pitch, Fellaini committed a foul leading to a game tying penalty kick. Instead of a 1-0 victory, it was another draw and dropped points for the Red Devils.
When asked about his decision to bring on Fellaini, Mourinho gruffly stated that he could not blame the player and claimed that he did not see the incident. He must have been the only one not to have seen it. The decision to bring on the human red card that is Fellaini was a questionable one. It’s about time that Mourinho accept responsibility for his decisions.
Of course Mourinho’s arrogance is such that he can never admit when he gets things wrong. When asked about United’s current troubles the manager hit back at reporters:

"We are not getting the results we deserve. We are getting draws but deserving victory. Opposition are leaving the stadium super happy with points they don’t deserve and we are leaving the stadium with a feeling we deserved more. We were the best team by far, but we didn’t win."
Maybe he is living in a fantasy land but it’s obvious to all that United under Mourinho has been less than impressive. Perhaps instead of “the special one” Mourinho should now be known as the deluded one.“
Mourinho has a worse record than both David Moyes and Louis van Gaal
Mourinho’s reputation has taken a hit over the past two seasons. He was fired by Chelsea last December with his club sitting 16th in the table. Now at United, the Red Devils have been mediocre at best. Between both clubs, Mourinho has won just nine of the past 30 Premier League matches he has managed.
Then there’s the fact that with Mourinho United are off to a worse start than his predecessors. After 14 matches under David Moyes United had 22 points. With Louis van Gaal at the helm the point tally at this stage of the season was 25. United currently have 21 points.

Mourinho has played the blame game since the beginning of his managerial career. The list of some of his most notorious scapegoats includes:

There’s still plenty of time for Mourinho and United to turn their season around. However, if the run of the mill results continue it’s time for the manager to add his own name to the list of those to blame.
