2. Tottenham will win the battle of the midfielders

Summer signing Victor Wanyama has had a great start to life at White Hart Lane. The Kenyan, signed from Southampton this season, has slotted into the Spurs midfield seamlessly.

He has shielded his defence admirably and has been absolutely brilliant breaking up opponents’ attacks. The energy, the sturdiness and the solidity he brings to the Spurs midfield has been crucial for them this season.

And with the return of Alderweireld, expect Eric Dier to return to the midfield where he looks completely at home. Energetic, willing runner, good with the ball at his feet, the Englishman compliments Wanyama very well in the middle of the park.

The duo will most likely be up against Michael Carrick and Paul Pogba in the United midfield. With their tough-tackling and physical approach, it will not be very hard to stifle Paul Pogba as Idrissa Gueye showed over the past week when United took on Everton. And with their constant pressing, Carrick can be restricted to playing passes sideways and will not have much impact on the game.
