Manchester United and manager Jose Mourinho have reached a critical moment in their short time together. A difficult start to the Premier League campaign has already put a tremendous amount of pressure on the club’s new boss.
The Red Devils currently sit sixth in the league table, six points from fifth-place Tottenham and nine points clear of the top four. Sunday’s match against Spurs at Old Trafford will be crucial for keeping pace in the standings heading into one of the busiest times of the season.
One of the key struggles United have endured recently is putting away their opposition and finishing off matches to earn all three points. Mourinho’s side have seen each of their last three Premier League matches end in a draw.
The January transfer window will certainly be targeted as a chance for the side to bring in reinforcements throughout the roster. One of the possible players rumoured to be involved is West Ham United midfielder Dimitri Payet.
The French international was the driving force behind the Hammers’ seventh-place finish in the league last season and has displayed incredible creative abilities. An attacking midfielder able to influence action on both sides of the pitch, there are certainly positives that Payet could bring to the United line-up.
