5. Christian Pulisic

You knew it was coming, so let’s get on with it.

Pulisic has taken the European scene by storm this year despite making just six appearances in the Bundesliga in five in the UEFA Champions League. That said, the 18-year-old has made the most of his showings by producing two goals and five assists in the two competitions.

Often deployed out wide, Pulisic’s speed and ability to play seamlessly in Thomas Tuchel’s side have helped him consistently break his way into Dortmund’s 18 with no sign of a change anytime soon.

All good for Liverpool, right? Wrong.

More from Liverpool FC

While it’s been reported that the Reds have shown interest in the Hershey, PA native, it’s also been reported that Dortmund has no interest in selling their potential future star. In fact, BVB is warding off Liverpool by claiming it will take a high bid to steal him away. LFC owners Fenway Sports Group, who also own the Boston Red Sox, are keen to add another star to their ranks, and the fact that Pulisic is a young American only increases their interest.

Time will tell whether or not the American group is willing to shell out what it takes to grab BVB’s No.22, but if their words are any indication it will be one of the more interesting transfer tales of the January window.
