Could Liverpool FC target Dembele in January?

1. Moussa Dembele

With too many Dembele’s to count in football these days, a more quiet rumor involving the Merseyside club has been for Celtic striker Moussa Dembele.

Fans of the Reds will like the look of the 20-year-old Frenchman, though, with his flashy style, ability to wriggle out of tight spaces, and key dribbling skills showcasing why his talents are being chased after despite making the move from Fulham to Celtic in the summer.

More from Playing for 90

In 16 appearances for the Scottish side in both the Champions League and Premiership, the No.10 has registered ten goals but no assists, though his tallies against Manchester City have certainly helped his case for a bigger move.

However, one aspect of his play that may work against him is his knack for playing in a more central position, a spot that is now occupied by Liverpool FC star Roberto Firmino, with the Brazilian providing far more to the club in the middle than when deployed out wide.

Though we haven’t seen Dembele shelled to the side by Brendan Rodgers, it’s not impossible for him to make an impact out there, just that it hasn’t yet been a proven tactic.

Regardless, if Liverpool does come calling in January and is still on the hunt for a Premier League title, the move may still not be enough to convince the budding star to bolt just yet.
