The Attacking Midfield

It’s no mistake that Tottenham’s resurgence has coincided with better play from Christian Eriksen. The classy Dane makes the Spurs attack tick when he’s in good form. It took a while, but he’s finally found his footing this year.

As such, can pencil Eriksen into one of the three attacking midfield spots. I also think it’s almost a certainty that Dele Alli will start in the middle. He isn’t the club’s most consistent player, but he may have the highest ceiling. The English starlet can conjure moments of world-class play even in the midst of a mediocre match.

That leaves one other spot in the attacking trio to contemplate. Conventional wisdom would suggest that Son Heung-Min retain his starting spot. I actually think we might see a surprise selection here.

I believe Pochettino will pull a shocker here and give Moussa Sissoko a start. His physical style of play could help Tottenham compete against United’s star-studded attack. In truth, this is exactly the sort of match he was brought in for.

You might see a shocker in Pochettino’s starting XI. Sissoko could get a surprising start at Old Trafford.
