David Moyes – Sunderland

Poor David Moyes has been through the mill over the past three years.

After a successful eleven year run as manager of Everton, Moyes was dubbed the “Chosen One” when he was hired to take over for Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.

That was the beginning of Moyes’ downward spiral.  His time in Manchester was miserable. Replacing the legendary Ferguson was always going to be difficult and Moyes was sacked in less than a year.

Next was a one year stint in Spain as manager of Real Sociedad. That also ended with Moyes being fired for poor results.

Now Moyes is at the helm of Sunderland. He was brought in just before the start of the current season after the abrupt departure of former manager Sam Allardyce.

The Black Cats currently sit 17th in the table with eleven points from 14 league matches.

Things have been looking up lately for Moyes and Sunderland. The team was without a league win through October. Since then, however, the Black Cats have won three out of their last four matches.

The manager’s future is still up in the air. Moyes is looking to bring in reinforcements during the January transfer window. If he does good business he may secure his Sunderland future. If not, he could be back on the unemployment line sooner than he’d like..
