2. Recent Results

After a great start to the season with three wins out of three, United dipped hard and fast in form. They dropped points and struggled to score. They played well in cup matches, but were lacking in the league and European stage. The team knew they needed to turn it around, and fast if they were going to be contenders for the title.

More from Manchester United

Recent strong performances in Europe have helped the team in terms of confidence. They have scored 11 in their last four group stage games, securing second place behind Turkish side Fenerbahce. Bringing these results into league play will be the big deciding factor of United’s title run.

After a crushing 4-0 defeat to Chelsea in late October, United has drawn four and won once. Though not entirely impressive, they are undefeated in five no matter how you look at it.  The team also only has one other loss in all competitions since then, losing to group winners Fenerbahce 2-1. They have had a nice run of form, and are looking up in terms of goals and team chemistry.Confidence will be high going into the match against Tottenham, so the players will be eager to score early and come out with all three points.
