4. Fabio Coentrao

Of all the players on the list, Coentrao is unique in the fact that he has already come back from the abyss in terns of his career in Spain. When he arrived from Benfica in 2011, following an impressive World Cup with Portugal a year earlier, big things were expected. But his career has never quite got off the ground.

A loan move to Monaco seemed like the end, but he has returned to Spain after 15 appearances in Ligue 1. Yet to appear in LaLiga, he does need something to kickstart life under Zidane. Could the Club World Cup be the perfect opportunity?

In fairness to Coentrao, few players could compete with Marcelo, who has made the left fullback position his own. The Brazilian is one of the best in the world, adding defensive solidarity to his attacking prowess.

If Zidane gives him a chance, Coentrao could put himself back in the picture. Most likely, though, a move away on a permanent basis will be in store by the summer, if not before.
