3. Ben Davies

As I mentioned in my other piece today, Davies isn’t going to leave White Hart Lane without the purchase of a new left back. The club’s willingness to sell him depends entirely on their ability to purchase a superior replacement.

Davies isn’t a bad player, but he doesn’t particularly fit Pochettino’s style of play. He doesn’t have the dynamic athleticism to truly thrive under the Argentine manager. When he starts a match instead of Danny Rose the club are forced to really change their attacking philosophy.

The Welshman could be a much better fit for another Premier League club. A team that sets up a little more conservatively could really suit his skill set. He’s an excellent defender whose poise on the ball could help a number of other clubs. It’s almost a shame that he’s miscast at Spurs.

Like Vorm, there would be significant transfer interest in Davies if he comes available. There have long been rumors of Chelsea interest and lately Crystal Palace have been linked. Tottenham could turn a nice profit on the steady left back.
