2. Tom Carroll

Tim Sherwood can shed a tear. His prized English starlet is the most likely Tottenham player to feel Pochettino’s axe in January. It should represent a merciful end to his very mediocre Spurs career.

The slight Englishman’s reputation has always far exceeded his actual production on the pitch. He does have quite a bit of skill on the ball, but he has the body size of a 12-year-old boy. Even small youth players can muscle him out of the way with ease.

At 24 years of age, Tottenham are tired of waiting for him to mature. They are ready to face the reality that he just isn’t the sort of player who can help a Champions League squad. There might be a Premier League home for him, but it won’t be at White Hart Lane.

Fortunately for Carroll (and Spurs), Swansea reportedly want to bring him in during the winter window. Tottenham will accept any appreciable offer for his services. His time in North London has come to a quiet end.
