Borussia Dortmund surprised many by finishing top of Group F over runners-up Real Madrid. Jurgen Klopp’s former club has been here before and has proven to be a tough opponent. They presently sit sixth in the Bundesliga table.

Benfica are top of the Portuguese Primeira having lost just one of its first 13 matches. The club just edged out Besitkas in Group B to grab second place.

The last time the two clubs met was in the round of 16 of the 1963 European Cup. The German club came out on top 6-2 in that two leg meeting.

Benfica ‘s Eduardo Salvio scored three goals and provided two assists during the group stages.

The Portuguese side also has highly rated defender Victor Lindelof. Inter Milan, PSG and Manchester United are targeting the 22-year-old Swede in January.

Dortmund has fire power in its lineup with forwards Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ousmane Dembélé and Marco Reus.

This one is tough to call, but on paper the Germans should move on to the next round.
