Barcelona and PSG are familiar foes. They last played each other in the Champions League quarter-finals two years ago. Barcelona came out on top with a 5-1 victory on aggregate.

PSG are notably weaker this season without Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Edison Cavani is now the main striker and when he’s on his game, he’s great. When he’s not, it’s hard to rely on him.

The Parisians were run away winners of Ligue 1 last year with second place Lyon finishing behind by 31 points. So far this year PSG are in third place trailing leaders Nice by four points.

PSG were on pace to win Group A but a draw at home against Bulgarian champions Ludogorets on Match Day 6 saw the French side finish second.

Barca sit second in La Liga six points behind Real Madrid. With Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez up front Barcelona have no problem scoring.

The team’s once prolific midfield has struggled a bit this season. Andres Iniesta was out injured while Sergio Busquets and Ivan Rakitic have been having sub par seasons so far. Even with its midfield problems, Barcelona are one of the toughest teams to face in Europe.

Barcelona should be able to dispatch PSG easily over two legs.
