Pep Guardiola is considered one of the best managers in the world. He has had tremendous success in the past with both Barcelona and Bayern Munich. Now in England, the Spaniard is learning that the Premier League is a lot different from La Liga and the Bundesliga.

Guardiola was asked in a recent interview about achieving success with his new club. His answer was telling, “I did it in my former clubs and I’ll do it here. I thought the adaptation would be shorter.”

More from Playing for 90

Guardiola has certainly felt pressure in his previous managerial positions. What he is dealing with now is probably unlike anything he had to deal with in Spain or Germany.

Arsene Wenger is the longest-serving manager in the league and has been under constant pressure ever since he came to North London. When his side were winning titles back in the late 90’s and early 2000’s he was hailed as “the professor”. Since then he has been questioned constantly by the media and has endured periods of fans demanding that he leave the club.

Wenger has remained professional and dedicated to Arsenal despite all the negativity and pressure that he has been subjected to. Wenger knows what he is up against as the manager of a major English club. Guardiola is still learning.
