5 realities Spurs must face to go from good to great

Tottenham currently sit fifth in the Premier League table which isn’t a bad start for Mauricio Pochettino’s side. Of course, the Argentine gaffer wants to position the club to compete for titles.. That’s going to cause the club to face some really tough realities.

If Daniel Levy and company really want to become Premier League title contenders, they’re going to have to change some of their fundamental operating principles. The club will need to take more financial risks than ever before. That might run contrary to Levy’s DNA, but he’ll have to grow.

The tougher challenges for the fan base will be to realize that some of their favorite players simply aren’t good enough. We’ve already seen this trend begin with the likes of Ryan Mason and Nacer Chadli. More fan favorites will be sacrificed in the name of a Tottenham title chase.

No one ever said becoming a real title contender would be easy. It’s going to cause Spurs to face a lot of harsh realities. Here are the five toughest things Pochettino’s squad will face as they make the challenging transition from pretender to contender.
