Alvaro Morata could be leaving Real Madrid

Real Madrid may need to start preparing for life without one of their most talented strikers. It seems that Alvaro Morata may be pining for a move back to Juventus. The Old Lady could certainly use Morata if Paulo Dybala makes the move to Madrid as expected.

At this point, we have to question whether or not Morata is capable of knowing what he wants. He spent two years with Juventus only to push for a move back to Madrid to fight for a spot in Zinedine Zidane’s first team. Only one season later, he’s now prepared to give up on his dreams of starring at Madrid to return to the comfortable surroundings in Turin.

Corriere dello Sport are the outlet reporting Morata’s wish to return to Italy. They don’t provide a ton of detail on the potential move other than claiming that the striker keeps in touch with many of his former teammates. That’s hardly news.

The only reason I’m giving this report a shred of credibility is that it would make a lot of sense given Morata’s current status with the club. He seems completely incapable of cracking Zidane’s starting XI in the foreseeable future. His standing at the club would only become more uncertain if Dybala gets thrown into the mix.

It’s pretty easy to imagine a scenario where Morata moves to The Old Lady as a makeweight in a Dybala deal. Real Madrid would find themselves with too many strikers while Juventus would be in desperate need of a centre forward. Moving Morata back to Turin could provide  both clubs with the ammunition they need to factor heavily in next year’s Champions League competition.

More from Real Madrid

Of course, if Morata does flip-flop back to Juventus, he’s certainly going to become the butt of quite a few jokes. It isn’t every day that a player of his age manages to go back and forth between two such high-profile clubs on two occasions. Something tells me Morata can shake off the laughter if he becomes a regular starter for either giant club.

Real Madrid fans rejoiced when Alvaro Morata made his glorious return to Madrid, but they may soon see him leave again. Juventus fans may get the opportunity to welcome the talented striker back to Serie A for the second time.
