Liverpool FC News: 5 players linked to Jurgen Klopp’s Reds
5. Ben Brereton – Nottingham Forest
With Danny Ings out and the physical unreliability of Daniel Sturridge, Liverpool FC has apparently turned its sights on 17-year-old Nottingham Forest striker Ben Brereton. The youngster has netted 15 goals in 20 games and has also attracted interest from Manchester United.

While Jose Mourinho is reportedly considering a ‘huge’ sum for the Englishman, he recently signed a new deal with the club, who are still awaiting completion of a takeover bid by John Jay Moores. The length of his new deal has not been announced, but Brereton has eyes only on finishing out the year with the U-23 side as he awaits his next move.
Liverpool isn’t desperate for a forward despite the reports of many, but adding in an extra attacker for the future seems the most likely move in a case like Brereton’s.
The forward would be unlikely to break into Klopp’s first team with the likes of Ben Woodburn hanging about, but should an inquiry turn into a formal bid it will be interesting to see how Klopp plans on using him.
