3. Jon Flanagan – Burnley (loan from Liverpool FC)

Stay with me here – despite “Flanno” being loaned out to Premier League side Burnley at the end of summer, Clarets manager Sean Dyche said he will be “reviewing” the defender’s loan spell in January.

After realizing the lack of time he would be getting in the 2016/17 campaign with Liverpool, Flanagan agreed on a loan move to newly promoted Burnley. Since that time, though, the English right-back has seen his action limited. In a Clarets shirt this year, Flanagan has made just five appearances (three starts) and featured for only 300 minutes. According to the Liverpool Echo, Flanagan missed part of the festive fixtures with a knee injury, and though it is not thought to be serious, Dyche is still keen on seeing how long his future with Burnley lies should he quickly bounce back from injury.

With Nathaniel Clyne playing a ridiculous amount of minutes, it seems that the return of Flanagan would be a welcomed one if it were not for academy product Trent Alexander-Arnold, who fans and staff alike are keen to see get more time throughout the season.
