Other winners – Liverpool, Arsenal, West Brom, Bournemouth

Liverpool  began the holidays with a convincing 4-1 win versus Stoke. The Reds then went on to defeat Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City 1-0. Unfortunately Jurgen Klopp’s side then surrendered a lead at Sunderland and had to settle for a draw.

Arsenal dispatched West Brom 1-0 and Crystal Palace 2-0. The Gunners then went to the south coast to take on Bournemouth. It was a given that the North London side would win. In the end, Arsenal were lucky to leave with one point after fighting back from a three goal deficit.

The Baggies continue to impress. Tony Pulis’ side remain eighth in the table after a successful holiday period. West Brom held off Arsenal until the 86th minute in a 1-0 loss. This was followed by victories away at Southampton and home to Hull.

Bournemouth had one of the toughest holiday fixture schedules. Yet with one win and a draw the Cherries moved up a spot to 9th in the table. A 0-3 defeat at Chelsea was followed by a 0-3 victory at Swansea. Finally Bournemouth led Arsenal 3-0 after 70 minutes and looked like sure winners. In the end they had to settle for a 3-3 draw.
