Watford – 2 losses – 1 draw – 1 point gained – Losers
Watford battled Crystal Palace on Boxing Day with Troy Deeney’s 71st minute penalty securing the home side got a share of the spoils.
A visit from high-flying Tottenham followed. Harry Kane and Dele Alli each scored a brace as Spurs dominated the 1-4 match from start to finish.
The Hornets’ holidays ended on a low note with a 2-0 loss away to Stoke.
The one draw and two losses resulted in Watford dropping from 12th in the table to 14th. What’s truly troubling in that the club was as high as seventh after defeating Everton 3-2 in December. It’s been downhill ever since.
