4. Defensive struggles for Liverpool

After their draw against Sunderland, Liverpool will look to make amends with a convincing win against United. This means Liverpool will be pressing harder and in more areas of the pitch to ensure victory. This could leave a lot of open spaces for United if they play their passes right.

In their draw, Liverpool gave away two penalties, both while up a goal. United will have this in the back of their minds, knowing that although the defenders will not back down, they may be a bit hesitant to go in for challenge inside the box.

The backline of Liverpool has had some very solid outings this season. Clean sheets against teams like Manchester City, Everton and even Manchester United earlier in the year showed great promise. The injury to Matip, however, has proved an issue.

Ragnar Klavan struggled against Sunderland, who mainly play their offense through Jermaine Defoe. The potent and versatile attack of United will be a big test for Liverpool overall.
