FW Fernando Llorente, Swansea

Reports are stating that Chelsea are looking to sign 31-year-old Llorente as a back-up for Diego Costa. The current back-up striker Michy Batshuayi has not adapted yet to the physical nature of the Premier League according to Conte.

It would be an easy transition for Llorente who has adapted well at Swansea. The forward, who has previously played for Conte at Juventus, has scored six times for the Swans this season.

Batshuayi has been out-of-favor at Chelsea and could be loaned out to Swansea in return for Llorente on loan or on a permanent basis according to reports.

It’s strange that Chelsea are offering their newly purchased £32m player to Swansea in return for a 31-year-old. But it could be a masterstroke from Antonio Conte. The six-foot-four Spanish striker has a physical presence and goal-scoring threat.  He can hold the ball up well for the likes of Eden Hazard and Pedro. He also has a good heading ability, which some would say Costa doesn’t provide for Chelsea.

Additionally, Swansea will give Batshuayi valuable playing time. This will allow him to adapt to the physical nature of the game. Win-win transfer.
