GK: Hugo Lloris vs. Claudio Bravo

One of the easier choices was between the two sides’ ‘netminders – Hugo Lloris and Claudio Bravo – the former hopping in goal on this combined XI.

Helping to man one of the best statistical defenses in the Premier League, Lloris has been excellent this season, making 37 saves compared to Bravo’s 31 with eight clean sheets to the Chilean’s four. Though Bravo has the advantage in punches and sweeping clearances, Lloris isn’t far behind in either category. The Frenchman has also demonstrated his incredible reflexes on a number of vital occasions to help Spurs keep their opposition at bay.

Additionally, one of the major talking points, when Bravo was brought in by manager Pep Guardiola in the summer, was his ability to play with his feet. Regarded as an above average shot stopper, Bravo was also touted as one of the better ‘keepers with the ball at his feet. However, Lloris has managed to best Bravo in this category as well, completing 72.9% of his passes compared to 71.5% for Bravo.

Stats show that even though Manchester City’s No.1 hasn’t performed nearly as poorly as some have made out, the advantage still lies with Lloris.
