CM: Moussa Dembele vs. Yaya Toure

This was certainly the easiest comparison in terms of games and minutes played, Moussa Dembele and Yaya Toure fight for one of two spots in the center of the park. Cool on the ball, calm under pressure, and stronger than an ox. The description fits both, so which one wins?

Dembele can make his case by citing his higher passing percentage, total passing, a higher percentage of duels won and overall higher defensive contributions while only playing around 200 minutes more. However, for Manchester City fans it’s a fair argument to say that in those 200 minutes it’s plenty conceivable that Toure is able to match the passing percentage and total passing numbers – which it is.

Toure’s case would expectedly surround a better attacking output, with the Ivorian pouring in three goals to Dembele’s zero. However, interestingly enough it’s the Tottenham midfielder who has completed more key passes and created more chances.

It’s going down to the wire, but Yaya Toure probably sneaks this one out.
