Five clubs that should purchase Dimitri Payet

Manchester City
“Desire” and “need” are two words that do not often go together during the January transfer period, especially for some of the Premier League’s most resourceful clubs. But the purchase of Dimitri Payet by Manchester City may not be as much of a luxury buy as it seems on the surface.
Pep Guardiola’s first campaign in England began well, but has hit a few bumps recently. City’s 4-0 loss at Everton this past weekend was as surprising as it was thorough for the home side.
Brazilian star Gabriel Jesus has arrived this month and will surely add a new dimension to the attack, but the City Football Group may look to add to their midfield with Payet.
While talent is abundant already in the squad with Raheem Sterling, Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva, Manchester City is not a club that will want to leave their title push to chance. Along with a UEFA Champions League Round of 16 encounter with AS Monaco rapidly approaching, Payet could contribute greatly across their entire campaign.

Quality players are present and the transfer fee would not be cheap, but we may yet see Dimitri Payet firing thunderous free-kicks and scoring goals at the Etihad Stadium in 2017.
