3. Harry’s hat trick?

No, I don’t really expect Harry Kane to put up another hat trick today against Manchester City. I do, however, think that the form he’s in after slotting three goals home against West Brom last weekend is very bad news for Guardiola.

Don’t forget that City are very likely going to start their normal centre back pairing of Nicolas Otamendi and John Stones to combat Kane. Otamendi has been one of City’s most consistent players on the campaign. Stones, has continued to be plagued by inconsistency that frustrated England fans this summer.

Frankly, even a top centre back pairing would have a tough time dealing with Kane given his current form. He’s a top-notch number nine that’s in a run of goals at the moment. Additionally, he tends to play his best football on the biggest stages. He’ll be salivating to carve up Guardiola’s defense.

For the record, Kane doesn’t need to score to be effective. He can draw massive amounts of attention from opposing defenders with his constant movement. When he pulls Stones out of position, look for someone like Christian Eriksen or Dele Alli to dart in and punish City for their error.
