1. City’s struggles in front of goal continue

Same problems continue to trouble Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side, struggling to convert their chances.

Guardiola came out with a very attacking 4-1-4-1 system. After a defensive horror show his team put on last weekend, the former Barcelona manager changed things up by opting to go all out attack with an intensive pressing since the opening whistle to stretch Tottenham’s defense.

He got his tactics spot on and his plan worked exactly the way he wanted. Man City dominated the visitors throughout the game and outshot them by 17 to six.

However, the lack of finishing has made City drop points again.

More from Manchester City

The hosts had seven shots on target, but only two had found the back of the net and both of them are thanks to Tottenham keeper Hugo Lloris’ mistakes. Raheem Sterling, Sergio Aguero, and David Silva all had opportunities in front of the goal but failed to get on the scoresheet.

This is starting to be a worrying sign for Guardiola and the club. City were also dominant in earlier periods against Chelsea and Everton but failed to take advantage and paid their price later on.

It is safe to say this was a lesson on how to completely dominate the game and still not win by Man City, they are desperately in need of good finishers in the box.
