3. This result decreased both teams’ title chances

The draw was certainly a blow for both sides, as it gives Chelsea a chance to widen the gap at the top.

Man City are arguably out of the title race already, as they currently sit at fifth with nine points behind the league leaders Chelsea. This match was their last chance to remain in the race, but they blew a two goal lead and left the pitch disappointed.

Although Spurs can consider themselves fortunate to walk away with a point, they can’t be too happy about dropping two points either. Although they will remain in the second place, they are already six points away from Chelsea who have a game in hand.

Chelsea are set to host the struggling Hull City side on Sunday, who are at the 19th place at this moment. Should the London outfits win, they will go nine points above Spurs and 12 above City. This result, along with Liverpool’s shocking loss to Swansea, will be a gift to Antonio Conte as his side is set to run away with the title.
