2. Cristiano has lost a step

There is no denying that Cristiano Ronaldo is still one of the best in world football, and scored a stunning free kick to pull his club back level against Celta. However, the Portuguese superstar has lost a step compared to the phenomenal performances he put out a couple of seasons back.

Ronaldo is still the team’s current top scorer this season with 12 goals in the league. But 2017 hasn’t been kind to him, just like the rest of Real Madrid squad.

Although he has two goals in last for matches, none of them came from an open play. His goal against Sevilla came from a penalty while his second goal is from a free kick against Celta. His touches and finishing have been incredibly poor and a big evidence of that is missing an important sitter from few yards out on Wednesday, which could’ve changed the outcome of their Copa del Rey tie.

At the verge of turning 32, it looks like the age is finally catching up to him despite the Portuguese’s strict diet and training regime. He was recently jeered by his own supporters at the Bernabeu and his time at the top might be slowly coming to an end.
