3. Injuries have plagued Real Madrid

Injuries are quickly becoming Real Madrid’s number one enemy, as Los Blancos currently have up to eight players sidelined.

As of now, Madrid are missing players like Gareth Bale, Pepe, Luka Modric, Daniel Carvajal, Raphael Varane, Marcelo, and James Rodriguez all to injuries.

With many of them being key players to the squad, Zinedine Zidane has been having a tough time trying to get his team to play at their best. They have looked tired since their loss to Sevilla and playing too many games in a short period of time is taking a toll on players.

Even for a club like Madrid, who have one of the strongest depth in club football, the amount of injuries is concerning. They are fortunate there is no Champions League fixtures this month, and now that they are out of Copa del Rey, all their attention needs to be in the league to hold on to their lead at the top of the table.

It is no wonder why they have only won once in last five outings given the injuries they are dealing with.
