Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney broke one of the famous records in English football on January 21st, passing Sir Bobby Charlton on the club’s all-time scoring list. Rooney’s late equalizer earned a 1-1 draw at Stoke City, the English international’s 250th goal for United.

Rooney’s time at Old Trafford has been one full of magical moments, but also of recent frustration. The 31-year old’s production and playing time at the club have been on the decline, and January transfer rumours have certainly been talking points.

Seemingly never far from controversy as well as never far from the opposition’s goal, Rooney has been one of the most influential figures of the Premier League era. Two seasons at Everton and an outstanding performance at Euro 2004 in Portugal led him to Manchester United.
