2. Vincent Janssen

As much as I hate to keep writing this, Vincent Janssen still is yet to score in open play during his Tottenham career. I don’t care if he knocks one in off his backside, the Dutch striker just needs a goal any way he can get it today.

More from Playing for 90

Many Spurs fans have real doubts over whether or not Janssen has the talent to be a successful Premier League striker. I share their concerns. He just seems to lack the quick-twitch athleticism needed to flourish in England’s top-flight.

On the other hand, he can be an absolute pit bull in the penalty box. More than a few Premier League strikers have made a solid career out of being a physical nightmare for opposing defenders. If Janssen is going to succeed, that’s where he’ll have to earn his money.

Again, we’re past the point of looking for style points. I don’t care how Janssen finds the back of the net as long as it isn’t from a penalty. The lad needs a goal from open play desperately. This may be one of his last chances to get it this season.
