Five Reasons Chelsea FC Can and Should Beat Liverpool FC

The Back-Three Wall
This back-three formation was the epitome of his Juventus side, playing a back-three system brought Juventus and Antonio Conte three consecutive Serie A titles. Chelsea began the season desperate to regain the form that saw them clinch the number one spot in 2014/2015. After defeats to Liverpool at home and Arsenal away, Antonio Conte decided to once again adapt to his favored back-three—which has remained in place to this day.
The combination of Caesar Azpilicueta, David Luiz and Gary Cahill has become the secret-recipe for Antonio Conte. These three have the prowess to go forward and intimidate with their height and strength in the opponents box, which has become a feeding ground for Gary Cahill.
Not only have these three caused terror to their opponents up-front but they have proved capable of their defending. Chelsea have now kept an impressive 13 clean sheets this campaign, largely in part to these three and keeper Courtois. If Chelsea are able to keep pace and shutdown Liverpool’s strikers like they have their other opponents, this game could be over quite early on.
