What did we learn from Manchester City’s dominance?

Less than two months ago these two outfits matched against each other for the FA Cup Third round, those in the crowd at London Stadium were either bowing their heads in misery or celebrating—depending on what side of the crowd you were sitting. Regardless, Manchester City have been convincing against West Ham this season. Pep Guardiola’s side demonstrated their prowess in the first match they played against each other this season at the Etihad, with a 3-1 result thanks to two goals from Raheem Sterling and Fernandinho.

Manchester City needed a big win on Wednesday to make up ground on the top-four race after Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea all dropped points this past week. While a 9-0 win would have helped them by securing fourth place on goal differential, I am sure Pep and the squad can rest with ease knowing they are back in contention for Champions League Football next season.

It’s rather unfortunate that Manchester City haven’t been playing this kind of football all season, they really could have had a proper run at things if so.

12-1 on aggregate from all three games this season. Nuff’ said. Top four back in sight for the Sky blues’.
