A return for Eric Bailly

Centre-back Eric Bailly was signed by Manchester United this past summer and the 22-year old made an immediate impact on the squad. A partnership with Daley Blind in central defence was a key component to the club’s strong start to the Premier League campaign.

The Ivorian international took to the back-line immediately, and turned in a fine performance in the Red Devils’ FA Community Shield victory over Leicester City in August at Wembley Stadium. With fantastic positioning and a clear understanding with his team-mates, Bailly has been a great addition for Mourinho’s side.

A knee injury against Chelsea in October has slowed his production, and Bailly only recently returned from the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations with the Ivory Coast.

A setback concern arose in a match for United’s U-23 squad early in the week as he worked his way back to full fitness, but the injury is not expected to further delay his entry into the line-up.

Expected back after not taking part in Wednesday’s tilt with Hull, a return for Eric Bailly can significantly boost Manchester United’s chances for a victory against Leicester.
