Exceptional goalkeeping

Against a Leicester City side that has not scored a goal in their last four Premier League matches, Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea should be expecting a successful outing on Sunday.

The 26-year old has enjoyed a stellar season in 2016-17, with eight clean sheets and recording 49 saves thus far. With a strong back-line and midfield in front of him, de Gea’s positioning and instincts have been sensational.

Leicester’s strengths play to their ability to absorb pressure, and get the ball forward to striker Jamie Vardy on the counter. But without N’Golo Kante covering ground and the defensive line unable to gain possession from the opposition, this approach has not brought the desired results.

If United keep the majority of the ball as they did Wednesday against Hull, Leicester will not be able to gain solid scoring opportunities.

If Leicester are able to open up space, de Gea has the incredible attributes to deny any possible goal. The Spanish international is likely to pick up his ninth clean sheet of the Premier League campaign on Sunday.

Frustration built mid-week, but expect Manchester United to earn three points when they visit Leicester City this weekend.
