A popular figure in England these days, Eddie Howe should also be among those considered for the Arsenal FC job – no matter when it becomes available.

In the past, Howe was linked with the England job and a number of other positions around the country but stated his commitment to AFC Bournemouth, whom he has taken from League One to the top flight since 2012, on multiple occasions. Leaving Bournemouth for a short spell with Burnley, Howe earned the Cherries a few shock results over the past couple of years and has seen them play a quality, attractive style that his players appear to be committed to.

Will Arsenal fans be happy with the appointment of someone like Howe, though? He is young, he hasn’t won anything at the top, and his sides have worked themselves into a few precarious positions in the past. However, his youth can be seen as a boost, he hasn’t really had the resources necessary to win big, and, with more talent, his teams may not seem as leaky as they have been at times. He doesn’t carry the pedigree of a Diego Simeone – or at least not yet – but he still stands as one of the better replacement candidates in the next couple of years.
