1. Laurent Blanc

In somewhat of a French swap, Laurent Blanc is another candidate on a long list of possible stand-ins for when Arsene Wenger’s day is done.

Interestingly enough, the former PSG boss has been linked in the past, but Wenger was also at one time rumored to be a favorite for the French club’s top job when Blanc’s outlook was bleak.

Like Atleti with Simeone, Blanc took PSG to another level but with more resources, winning three Ligue 1 titles, two Coupe de France pots, and three Coupe de Ligue trophies, also winning the Ligue 1 Manager of the Year in 2015. However, like his fellow Frenchman Wenger, the knock on Blanc was PSG’s success in the Champions League after having spent a wild amount of money on new signings – including record deals for players like Edinson Cavani and Angel Di Maria.

Blanc is also out of contract at the moment after a “brutal” exit from PSG, and it would be interesting to see him step in and place a big overhaul at a club like Arsenal, where his team would be playing a vastly different style than Wenger’s does. PSG may be stronger under Unai Emery than they were under Blanc, but it’s highly possible that the latter is scheming his next move in the present.
