Five reasons Claudio Ranieri needs to stay on at Leicester City
By Liam Price
Message of support from his club
On Tuesday, February 7th, Leicester City released the following statement amid the speculation of a swift Ranieri departure:
“In light of recent speculation, Leicester City Football Club would like to make absolutely clear its unwavering support for its First Team Manager, Claudio Ranieri. While there is a collective appreciation from everyone at the Club that recent form needs to improve, the unprecedented success achieved in recent seasons has been based firmly on stability, togetherness and determination to overcome even the greatest of challenges. The entire Club is and will remain united behind its manager and behind its players, collectively and firmly focused on the challenges ahead.”

For many of the reasons listed on the previous page and many more that are not listed, Leicester City still believe that Claudio Ranieri is the right man for the job. Often, someone who wins the league in the previous season should not get the sack (unless you are Jose Mourinho).
While he still maintains support from the club and chairman, Ranieri must be expected to turn things around soon in the Premier League of that support could be all but gone. With the team just a few points above the relegation zone, the manager must make the right decisions quickly. He must re-install that team spirit that Leicester City was so famous for last season and a string of wins might just do that for the Italian.
Another issue that Ranieri needs to tackle within his squad is the confidence- or lack thereof which his players have. After a 3-0 thrashing at the hands of Manchester United, Ranieri needs get his players to hold their lines and stop conceding goals. On Wednesday, his side will face Derby County for their fourth-round replay of the FA Cup. With this game taking place at the King Power Stadium, this might be the perfect opportunity for the squad to begin their turnaround.
